Accessibility Statement
Beauty by Racheal is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. The site is designed and maintained with accessibility in mind, and is continually being improved.
Found a barrier? If anything on this site is difficult to use with assistive technology, DM @beauty.by.racheal on Instagram. Reports are taken seriously and addressed as quickly as possible. If you'd prefer an alternative way to book or get information, Racheal is glad to help by DM, phone, or in person.
The standard followed
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the W3C. WCAG defines requirements for designers and developers to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities — including visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive impairments.
What's in place
Specific steps taken on this site include:
- Semantic HTML — headings, landmarks, and navigation regions so screen readers can understand and skip between sections
- Alternative text for content images, describing what the image shows
- Keyboard navigation — all menus, buttons, and links are reachable and operable without a mouse
- "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page
- Color contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios for text
- Scalable text — pages remain usable when text is enlarged up to 200%
- Responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and desktops
- Visible focus indicators so keyboard users can see where they are on the page
- Descriptive link text instead of generic "click here" labels
- No flashing or auto-playing content that could trigger seizures or distract
- Form and button labels connected to their controls
- Plain-language writing — no jargon where it can be avoided
Known limitations
This site is a work in progress. The following are known and being worked on:
- Older gallery images are being progressively replaced with optimized versions and updated alt text.
- Booking is handled by Glossgenius, a third-party platform. Glossgenius maintains its own accessibility practices. If you have trouble booking through Glossgenius, DM and Racheal will book the appointment for you.
- Embedded maps from Google Maps may have accessibility limitations outside of our control. The studio address and phone are always available in plain text on the Contact page.
Assistive technologies tested
This site has been tested with common combinations including:
- VoiceOver on macOS and iOS (Safari)
- NVDA on Windows (Firefox, Chrome)
- Keyboard-only navigation across major browsers
- Browser zoom up to 200%

Reporting an accessibility issue
If you encounter a barrier on this site or in the studio, please report it. Include:
- The page URL where the problem occurred (if web)
- A description of the problem
- The assistive technology you were using, if any
Send to @beauty.by.racheal on Instagram. Reports are typically acknowledged within a few business days, with a resolution or progress update to follow.
Continuous improvement
Accessibility is treated as an ongoing process, not a one-time project. This page will be updated as improvements are made and as new content is added to the site.
